The 6′ 6″ guard played three years for Coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina, stroking the winning shot in the 1983 NCAA Tournament final game against Georgetown. Jordan went on to a stellar National Basketball Association career guiding his Chicago Bulls to six championships. He garnered so many top offensive and defensive awards that, in the eyes of many experts, he is considered the greatest basketball player in the history of the game. Michael Jordan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
Michael Jordan remains majority owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats team, and is a successful entrepreneur as well. Though Magic Johnson played from 1980 to 1996, and Jordan from 1985 to 2003, their incredible statistics were comparable, and both players became outstanding business leaders after retiring from the NBA.
